Careers at Grove Support Services

support work, the way it should have been built.

We're growing a national, connected team of support workers and operations people who want to do the real work: in homes, schools, residences and locations, not just behind a desk. Senior oversight on every case, NDIS-fluent admin behind you, and a support culture that treats families as part of the team.

Lilli Frey, Founder of Grove Support Services
From our director

"If you've spent time wishing support work worked differently, you'll fit in here. We hire for support skill, then for the kind of warmth families remember."

Why Grove Support Services

A practice built around support workers and clients, not billable hours.

Grove Support Services supports children, adolescents, adults and older Australians across NDIS, Aged Care Support at Home, DVA and private pathways. We're growing carefully, keeping the support culture senior, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed as we scale. Here's what shapes how we work.

1

Whole-of-lifespan care

We don't silo into paediatrics or adults. You'll see kids, teens, adults and older Australians across the week, with the variety and support depth that brings. Specialise where you want to, generalise where it serves the client.

2

Family-centred constellation model

Care includes the people around the client: parents, partners, support workers, educators, aged care staff. That's a support stance, not a slogan. It also means your reports and recommendations actually land.

3

Connected by design

Support coordination, supported living, community access, aged care and home & garden maintenance all sit in the same team. Case-conferencing is built into the week. You'll learn from people outside your discipline without having to chase them.

4

Neuro-affirming, trauma-informed

We approach autism, ADHD and neurodivergence as identity, not pathology. We treat behaviour as a form of communication, not a problem to manage. Locationians who'd cringe at a reward chart or a 'social skills' programme will feel at home here.

5

Strong support governance

Senior support worker oversight on every case. Structured supervision, support risk processes, peer review and documented file standards. The support safety net is real, especially for early-career staff.

Funding-fluent operations

Our admin, bookings and policy team genuinely understand NDIS, Support at Home, DVA and plan management. You shouldn't be spending your week chasing service agreements. We make sure you don't.

Open roles & EOIs

Who we're hiring right now.

Roles marked 'open' are actively recruiting. 'Expressions of interest' means we're building a pipeline. We'll talk early, get to know you, and reach out when the right caseload comes through. If your discipline isn't listed, send us your CV anyway. We're growing across most services and locations.

What you get

The things that make a difference day to day.

Real flexibility in how you deliver care

In-location, mobile or telehealth, or a mix that suits the client and you. Most of our support workers blend at least two delivery modes. We design the week around support fit, not arbitrary site rosters.

Senior senior oversight on every case

Whether you're a new graduate or a 20-year support worker, you'll have a senior to talk to. Complex cases get case-conferenced. Risk and safeguarding processes are documented. No one carries a hard case alone.

Structured supervision and CPD

Supervision is scheduled, not squeezed in. We support AHPRA-aligned supervision for provisional psychologists, supervision hours for early-career OTs and speechies, and a CPD allowance that recognises real training, not just compliance modules.

Connected case-conferencing

Weekly opportunities to bring a case to OT, support coordination, speech, support coordination and community access peers. You'll learn faster, write better reports, and make better referrals out when something isn't your scope.

NDIS-fluent admin behind you

Service agreements, plan-manager chasing, invoicing and reschedules are handled by people who genuinely understand the NDIS, Aged Care Support at Home and DVA. You shouldn't lose three hours a week to admin you didn't train for.

No billable-hour grind

We don't run a high-throughput model. Caseloads are designed so you can write the report, prepare for the session, and ring the parent back. Reasonable face-to-face expectations, with non-billable support time protected.

Support Worker support where it fits

Our support workers run program-based sessions under your delegation. That keeps support consistent between your sessions and stretches NDIS budgets for your clients without diluting your senior oversight.

A path to grow with the practice

We're building a national connected practice over the next few years. Senior roles, supervisor roles, regional leadership and program development opportunities will keep opening up. If you want to grow with us, we want to talk.

How hiring works

What happens from first chat to first week.

We try to be respectful with people's time. Our process is usually four to five touchpoints, scheduled around your existing role. We won't ghost you and we won't drag it out.

Step 01

First chat

A 20-30 minute call with our Operations Coordinator or Director. We talk about your work, what you're after, and whether the role fits. No formal interview structure, no surprise scenarios.

Step 02

Qualifications and screening check

We confirm qualifications, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening and references. We move fast on this once you give us the go-ahead.

Step 03

Meet the team

Sit down (in person or via video) with two or three support workers you'd be working alongside, including a senior support worker in your discipline. We talk about support approach, a real case or two, and how you'd fit into the team.

Step 04

Shadow or case discussion

Depending on the role, you'll either shadow a session or two, or work through a current case with one of our senior support workers. This is also where you get to ask the harder questions about caseloads, oversight and culture.

Step 05

Offer and onboarding

Written offer, agreed start date, and a structured onboarding plan. You'll meet your supervisor, set up systems access, walk through file standards and start with a paced caseload. First six weeks include weekly check-ins with your supervisor and the operations team.

Career FAQs

Questions support workers actually ask .
Do you offer supervision for provisional psychologists?

Yes. We have AHPRA-approved supervisors in the team and we structure supervision around the internship or registrar program requirements, not as a tick-the-box exercise. Provisional psychologists carry a paced caseload and have weekly supervision plus monthly group supervision.

Can I work part-time, remote, or from a city you don't have a location in?

Yes to all three. We have support workers working part-time across most services, and we deliver via location, mobile and telehealth. If you're in a city we service through mobile or telehealth (including Perth, Adelaide, Darwin and Sydney) we'll work out the model with you. We're particularly keen to grow our support worker footprint in WA, SA and NT.

What kind of caseload mix should I expect?

It depends on the role and discipline, but most of our support workers see a mix of NDIS, aged care, DVA and private clients across the lifespan. You can lean towards an age group or population if that's where your strengths are. We protect non-billable time for report writing, case-conferencing and supervision. We don't run a pure billable-hour model.

How does supervision and senior oversight work for new graduates?

New grads get a paced caseload, weekly individual supervision with a senior in your discipline, fortnightly connected case-conferencing, and a structured first-six-months development plan. You won't be handed a complex NDIS support plan in your first month and left to figure it out.

Do I need to be ?

For any regulated role we confirm your qualifications and any applicable professional body membership before you start. We'll tell you exactly what's needed for the role you're applying for.

What about CPD, training and conference allowances?

We have a CPD budget per support worker each year that covers approved training, supervision over and above the included hours, and one conference or major workshop. We also run internal training across the team. Recent topics include trauma-informed assessment, AAC for non-speaking clients and NDIS report writing.

Is there any reason I wouldn't be a fit here?

Probably. If you're after a pure billable-hour model with maximum throughput, we're not it. If you want to work in deep isolation without case-conferencing, peer review or admin support, we're not it. And if reward charts, behavioural compliance and 'social skills training' are core to how you work, our neuro-affirming culture will feel like a poor fit. We'd rather say that up front than waste your time.

I don't see my role listed. Should I still get in touch?

Yes. We're growing across support coordination, supported living, community access, aged care and home & garden maintenance and support operations. If your discipline or location isn't listed today, send your CV and a short note about what you're looking for. We keep an active pipeline and we'd rather hear from you early than miss the right person.
